COVENANT LIVING ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP ENHANCEMENT TO SUPPORT GROWTH AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Covenant Living Communities and Services announced a strategic leadership enhancement designed to strengthen organizational focus, enhance support for its communities, and position the organization for continued growth and long-term success.
Effective October 1, Jay Hibbard will be promoted to President of Covenant Living Communities. Hibbard, who has more than 36 years of senior living experience, has served Covenant Living for more than a decade and currently serves as Chief Growth and Communication Officer. The promotion is part of a broader organizational structure designed to align leadership responsibilities, drive operational excellence, and further strengthen the resident and employee experience across the organization.
Since his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2024, David Erickson has worked with organizational leaders and stakeholders to evaluate Covenant Living’s structure and identify opportunities to enhance operational focus, strengthen performance, and advance the organization’s mission.
“This leadership structure reflects our commitment to positioning Covenant Living for continued success,” said David Erickson, current Covenant Living president and CEO. “Jay is a trusted and highly respected leader who understands our mission, our people and our communities. As we continue to evolve, this structure creates greater focus and accountability while enabling us to better support residents and employees.”
The updated structure reflects a leadership model used successfully throughout the senior living industry and has been developed over the past year.
Erickson will continue as CEO and focus on long-term strategy, mission advancement, organizational culture, governance, enterprise growth, and positioning Covenant Living for future success. As President, Hibbard will serve as the organization’s chief operations executive, overseeing operational excellence, quality outcomes, community performance, occupancy growth, innovation, and ensuring that communities receive exceptional support from the central office.
“I am honored to serve as President of Covenant Living Communities and grateful for the confidence David, our Board, and our leadership team have placed in me,” said Jay Hibbard, incoming President of Covenant Living Communities. “Covenant Living has an extraordinary mission and a strong foundation. I look forward to working closely with our teams across the organization to support our communities, enhance the resident experience, and build on the momentum we have created together.”
Erickson and Hibbard will continue to work in close partnership, providing complementary leadership as Covenant Living advances its mission and strategic priorities.
“When I joined Covenant Living as President and CEO in 2024, one of my priorities was ensuring we had the right leadership structure to support our mission and long-term strategy,” Erickson added. “This transition creates greater alignment across the organization and strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional experiences for residents while supporting the teams who serve them every day.”
